Timed trials might be a feature spun out of EA Access, as that service does allow 10 hour trials of new EA games. But it'd be cool if developers could just tick a box, put how long they want the trial to last and let players try the full version of their game. In a practical sense it's not much different from the 2 hour refund window but reduces transaction fees associated with people buying a game and refunding it if it's not for them.
And I also think we'll eventually see Uplay+ on Steam if Ubisoft decides to sell it on the consoles too. Ubisoft seems to be on a similar trajectory that EA was when they left Steam for Origin, only things are moving a lot faster now so I expect their little no Steam tantrum to end sooner rather than later.

So basically Steam becomes a Roku device with its own massive storefront.
That will be great and all but the more they move into that direction the more they should consider making their own handheld device so that the cloud stuff becomes more appealing.
Assuming it ever comes to market...that Alienware UFO thing is becoming more valuable for not only playing games but also using it for GFNow/Xcloud.

It sounds like they're trying to combine the good ideas from Sinking City with the core game design people loved from Sherlock Holmes to create an open world Sherlock Holmes game with a much more focused approach to world and quest design than Sinking City.

I really hope the game sells well. The big tragedy IMHO has always been that Frogwares make some of the best detective games (Crimes and Punishments was amazing, Devil's Daughter was solid) but they haven't been rewarded with the sales they deserve.

It feels like we saw Project UFO at CES years ago, when it was only in January. I feel like if it comes out that device is going to be a little overengineered and niche (i.e. catered for rich people) because that thing is going to be Surface Pro expensive. Most people will only be able to afford one gaming PC, let alone a gaming PC and a handheld gaming PC.
But getting streaming onto a Switch-like handheld device is a big gap in the market right now. I'd be there day 0 for a low powered Android-based handheld of a similar form factor to Switch/Project UFO that can install apps from all the remote play/cloud streaming services. I currently flip between my Galaxy Tab A10 and Surface Pro 6 for streaming games to a portable device, but comfort and size are an issue. If someone had a device like the Switch that was affordable, played Android games and streaming apps from all the devices, I think that'd be a really successful device.
I'd actually be very interested if Alienware released a more affordable version of the UFO device that used their detachable controllers but was a low-spec streaming only device.

I'm curious about the big store front thing. Since they did want to expanded in the past (which is why you could buy movies on Steam, and they were even going to make an app to watch the stuff on your phone, but that seems to have gotten scrapped)
Will they still keep to their plan about focusing on games with these services?
And will people have issues with these changes? Seeing how there are some people that just want Steam to buy games sort of a thing and some of this new stuff may slow down Steam?

Honestly that was actually a very enjoyable medium-sized ride at 20-something hours.
It can be great fun but also a total slog depending on how you play it - the game has some pretty... puzzling design decisions.
The weird thing is that combat feels actually very good once you have some skills and ranks into a Daemon - but it is deliberately hidden behind cumbersome clunkiness...
Maybe I'll go into more detail later on, it's kind of interesting picking it apart. Some good game design lessons in there (as in, things you probably don't want to do).

- Added an option to share your IP address and attempt to establish a direct connection. The connection will still be relayed if NAT traversal fails or the relayed route is faster.
- Throttle downloads on the client while streaming, if that option is enabled in the Download settings
- Prevent downloads on the client while streaming, if "Allow downloads during gameplay" is not enabled in the Download settings
- Changing Remote Play settings on the client will affect any current streaming sessions
- Fix reading battery levels on laptops. Low battery level notifications and the battery level indicator in the overlay will now work again.
- Updated 'scout' steam runtime to 0.20200505.0
- Fixes bundled zenity binary
- Show progress bar while updating pinned libraries
- Updated 'heavy' steam runtime to 0.20200512.2 with upstream library updates
- Improved routing for P2P connections

Anyone else get into random gaming nostalgia traps sometimes? This damn Sega 60th anniversary avatar thing gave me all the feels. It's when there isn't a modern representative of one of these games / genres that really holds up, really fires the nostalgia bone.
Such a great game but it sucks that the version on GoG is missing the most iconic music which kinda defines my experience with the game. Kinda worried that they'll mess up the remake too considering how Mafia 2 & 3 went...
Makes me think of Montezuma's Return. Wish someone would remake, rerelease, or make an original inspired by 'Return'

At the beginning there is a lot of micromanagement because you don't have storages or need to manually cut trees for fuel, but the entire point of the game is to automize EVERYTHING, 20 hours in the only micromanagement i'm doing is to tune the systems to maximize the output and that's fairly optional i'd say.
Why? It's an amazing game. If I could purchase it somewhere right now for $2.50 I would play it again before the remake releases. I lost my retail copy somewhere, too lazy to look for it.

The game is indeed a lot of fun and I played a "legal" copy a few months back and it was damn good. But I like to track my playtime, so Im waiting for the Steam version. It can drop any time now.
