Capcom explained: "Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is specifically being developed and optimised to benefit the system architecture and leap in processing power offered by PS5 and Xbox Series X, so we're focusing on these platforms. At present, there are no plans to release DMC5SE on PC."

Something Im wondering on. When a company acquires another company not owned by anyone, like when MS acquired Playground and Sony with Insomniac, where do the money involved in the buyout go to?
heads of the company + lawyers and any private investors if their deals state as much. Unlikely many of the day to days will see much from this.

I just hope Microsoft doesn't kill off Quake Champions. Bethesda already puts little effort in supporting that game and it's the only competitive shooter I really enjoy. Rocket Arena is fun but it's no Quake.

In my dreams, they'll put money in to it and arena shooters come back in full force.

Change your password asap and unlink accounts pronto.
I just check and thank you Activision because of you I had to use a different password for my account so I had a unique password for the account and should not fear an issue?

You know what? I am pretty sure Microsoft will put that Game Pass on Steam. They don't want us to buy Xbox, they want us to subscribe. Like a successful drug dealer, you give the clients the pure experience: MS games, EA games, Ubisoft games. Then cut it to increase volume add indie games pepper some midlevel studio games, add flash games from Newgrounds. Then when we are deep into it, umh so addicted. MS is not going to charge more immediately, the price will stay. But they will give you an option to rent the DLCs. Yeah. The Sims 4 is part of the package, but it's stupid, you have to buy the DLCs that are so expensive. How about 50 cent per DLC a month? Not bad right. Then there are going to be further tiers. They are going to give away games for us to own like Humble Bundle, but no DLC, since you have to rent them. A little bit of price increase, since they'll add another game per month for us to own for real. Then there's going to be an ultimate subscription tier with all the DLCs, for only twice the price. Another tier of subscription to own the day one of the games, for thrice the price of the base sub! There are going to be 50% discount vouchers for DLCs in the highest tier! Wow! lmao

Microsoft is such a wild card at this point.

If they grow to garner enough audience and recognition in the PC space through Steam, they may actually leave the platform again at some point. They only need to expand their support to more countries with more payment options. It can possibly happen.

What a day :fearful-face: Anyways :so-good-blob:
This incredibly clever translation of a gif in emoji form was done with care, to the point of glancing over the correct use cases of anyway and anyways, you don’t deserve me :fashionblob:

Not a lot to say, in fact. Just wanted to say that I skimmed over the gigantic reaction thread to the MS move elsewhere and was just thinking to myself that, one I sometimes fear that I make a too liberal use of the ignore list (will there be a forum left some day) and two that some really good posts there are made by people from here. While I would prefer it here, it’s still funny to note.

I doubt they could put all of Gamepass on Steam (priobably not possible with all third party games based on the contracts they have) but I could see a cheaper version with just Microsoft games coming.

I don’t know, I’m sure this won’t be a popular opinion here, very understandably, but I still think MS and Game Pass keeping to their own store makes sense. Maybe in an old fashioned way.
It’s like Joe Quesada (Marvel EIC at the time) once said about DC Superman. That they have the most well hung porn star of the industry and don’t know how to use it.
Now let’s be precise, Quesada has disappeared from the public eye and we may well be better for it. But I share the feeling here. You have windows, you have Game Pass, and the only thing you can release is that shit store ? Talk about wasted opportunities.
Now it may very well be for the better for customers, but it boggle the mind nonetheless.

I'd much rather they put the IP to good use in general. Maybe MS will finally be the one to get Quake back to its Lovecraftian horror roots since ID/Activision/Bethesda sure as hell weren't. Or Keen in a proper platformer. I'm sure Rare could make good use of that.

It;s partly because the store obviously has so many areas of the company pulling it in different directions at once, it has to be all things to all of them and can';t pull it off. I'm sure if it hadn't been designed with Microsoft windows mobile in mind it might look and function a lot better. than it does on desktop where it would serve the most use. If their business/office division had been the leading force it would probably have been better from the start, but alas, twas not the case.

Do you guys think Microsoft's acquisition will have any impact on Sony's plans to release old PS4 exclusives on PC ?

oh no, not this shitty excuses again :blobclosecry:
All I say is, that I would subscribe to Gamepass if it is on Steam. I have currently no desire to do so for the MS version.
Unfortunately if it ever comes to Steam it would be like a Gamepass Lite which would only give you access to the MS games, still good value if you are into their content and it will be more and more interesting when more games from their catalog come out.

Don't really know in which way it has impacted Sony and how they will react, they will probably do an acquisition too after this however, I don't know if this would affect their expansionism strategy with the PC. we will see.

The last time I remember reading this kind of excuse was with the original release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
I thought we were long past this nonsense.

PCs with a similar leap in RT power from two years ago are rightfully confused now.
I bet it's the SSD, not much Capcom can do here.

Just be straight forward: We don't have the man power to work on both updates at once OR Sony paid us for that version.
I bet it's a combination of those two. Sony is starting to annoy me.

The joys of new console generations.
Fuck you Capcom 🖕
It's probably stupid Capcom businessperson logic.

They want to sell DMCV at full price again, but PC players will rightly see through the BS and ask for an upgrade price/DLC bundle. So the solution is to release an upgrade DLC on PC, but have it hobbled compared to the full-priced Special Edition released on the new consoles.

It's a complete fudge.

If they decide to change their plans, they will lose a lot of ground. In fact, the smartest move would be to double down on pc releases to counter the Ms move. They can't leave the pc space exclusively to Ms.

Has it ever happened to you that you activate a Humble Bundle gift link but the email containing the link/gift never arrives? That just happened to me and it sucks because I don't think I have a 100% reliable way to prove I activated the gift link, i didn't made that purchase. Now waiting for support, which may take 3 days according to the FAQ.

There was some talk about Baldur's Gate 2 recently.
As always somebody from GOG.com is reading and there is now a D&D sale on there.
Unfortunately Planescape is missing, but NWN2, BG 1, BG2 enchanced are all only ~9€ each.

Capcom: We assume our audience is too stupid to smell bullshit.

I don't know if you realize that this is a big deal cause' it means that IF konami wants Silent Hill PC ports could be re-released again, that would mean 2, 3 and 4 available on digital storefronts AT FUCKING LAST.

That requieres effort :evilblob:

If this is real, please don't region-locked them. I can only buy a small number of Konami games from my region.

I wish the same sale is going on in Steam, I'd love to buy Neverwinter after that visual upgrade.

I need my fantasy RPG fix. I've been playing too much games with guns lately.

Damn, just took a glimpse because not that interested in the new consoles, but between PS5 / XSX and 3080, that's the most paper launch year of all paper launch years.

...isn’t this already on PC? Like, they’re shitty ports that’re near unplayable without mods, but it’s still on PC. Call me when MGS3 or MGS4 get ports.

I’d be morally conflicted about giving Konami money if that happened. Especially given the extremely likely chance that none of the ports would be widescreen and SH2’s PC port would still need to be modded like it has been for the last 20 years.

Metal Gear as in the MSX version?

Sure why the hell not. Hopefully we can get the entire franchise eventually.
