Capcom explained: "Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is specifically being developed and optimised to benefit the system architecture and leap in processing power offered by PS5 and Xbox Series X, so we're focusing on these platforms. At present, there are no plans to release DMC5SE on PC."
heads of the company + lawyers and any private investors if their deals state as much. Unlikely many of the day to days will see much from this.Something Im wondering on. When a company acquires another company not owned by anyone, like when MS acquired Playground and Sony with Insomniac, where do the money involved in the buyout go to?
What a stupid fucking company lol. Don't think I'll bother with the Vergil DLC, at least not until I can get it for next to nothing. Who knows, by then maybe they'll magically have plans for a PC version.Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition isn't coming to PC because it's been 'optimized' for next-gen consoles
Maybe…one day? Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is on Steam. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is on Steam....www.destructoid.com
Capcom accumulated a shit ton of good will over the last few years with RE7, RE2make and DMCV. Seems like 2020 is the year where they piss it all away with the half-assed RE3make and now this exclusivity bullshit.Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition isn't coming to PC because it's been 'optimized' for next-gen consoles

I doubt they could put all of Gamepass on Steam (priobably not possible with all third party games based on the contracts they have) but I could see a cheaper version with just Microsoft games coming. You know what? I am pretty sure Microsoft will put that Game Pass on Steam. They don't want us to buy Xbox, they want us to subscribe. Like a successful drug dealer, you give the clients the pure experience: MS games, EA games, Ubisoft games. Then cut it to increase volume add indie games pepper some midlevel studio games, add flash games from Newgrounds. Then when we are deep into it, umh so addicted. MS is not going to charge more immediately, the price will stay. But they will give you an option to rent the DLCs. Yeah. The Sims 4 is part of the package, but it's stupid, you have to buy the DLCs that are so expensive. How about 50 cent per DLC a month? Not bad right. Then there are going to be further tiers. They are going to give away games for us to own like Humble Bundle, but no DLC, since you have to rent them. A little bit of price increase, since they'll add another game per month for us to own for real. Then there's going to be an ultimate subscription tier with all the DLCs, for only twice the price. Another tier of subscription to own the day one of the games, for thrice the price of the base sub! There are going to be 50% discount vouchers for DLCs in the highest tier! Wow! lmao
Metal Goose ShooterMetalGoose Slug?
I'd much rather they put the IP to good use in general. Maybe MS will finally be the one to get Quake back to its Lovecraftian horror roots since ID/Activision/Bethesda sure as hell weren't. Or Keen in a proper platformer. I'm sure Rare could make good use of that.I just hope Microsoft doesn't kill off Quake Champions. Bethesda already puts little effort in supporting that game and it's the only competitive shooter I really enjoy. Rocket Arena is fun but it's no Quake.
In my dreams, they'll put money in to it and arena shooters come back in full force.
It;s partly because the store obviously has so many areas of the company pulling it in different directions at once, it has to be all things to all of them and can';t pull it off. I'm sure if it hadn't been designed with Microsoft windows mobile in mind it might look and function a lot better. than it does on desktop where it would serve the most use. If their business/office division had been the leading force it would probably have been better from the start, but alas, twas not the case.I don’t know, I’m sure this won’t be a popular opinion here, very understandably, but I still think MS and Game Pass keeping to their own store makes sense. Maybe in an old fashioned way.
It’s like Joe Quesada (Marvel EIC at the time) once said about DC Superman. That they have the most well hung porn star of the industry and don’t know how to use it.
Now let’s be precise, Quesada has disappeared from the public eye and we may well be better for it. But I share the feeling here. You have windows, you have Game Pass, and the only thing you can release is that shit store ? Talk about wasted opportunities.
Now it may very well be for the better for customers, but it boggle the mind nonetheless.
oh no, not this shitty excuses againDevil May Cry 5: Special Edition isn't coming to PC because it's been 'optimized' for next-gen consoles

Unfortunately if it ever comes to Steam it would be like a Gamepass Lite which would only give you access to the MS games, still good value if you are into their content and it will be more and more interesting when more games from their catalog come out.All I say is, that I would subscribe to Gamepass if it is on Steam. I have currently no desire to do so for the MS version.
Don't really know in which way it has impacted Sony and how they will react, they will probably do an acquisition too after this however, I don't know if this would affect their expansionism strategy with the PC. we will see.Do you guys think Microsoft's acquisition will have any impact on Sony's plans to release old PS4 exclusives on PC ?
The last time I remember reading this kind of excuse was with the original release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition isn't coming to PC because it's been 'optimized' for next-gen consoles

That would make sense if the improvements weren't also coming to xbox.Just be straight forward: We don't have the man power to work on both updates at once OR Sony paid us for that version.
I bet it's a combination of those two. Sony is starting to annoy me.
The joys of new console generations.Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition isn't coming to PC because it's been 'optimized' for next-gen consoles

Lol, okay fair enough. That would make sense if the improvements weren't also coming to xbox.
It's probably stupid Capcom businessperson logic. The joys of new console generations.
Fuck you Capcom
If they decide to change their plans, they will lose a lot of ground. In fact, the smartest move would be to double down on pc releases to counter the Ms move. They can't leave the pc space exclusively to Ms.Do you guys think Microsoft's acquisition will have any impact on Sony's plans to release old PS4 exclusives on PC ?

Why wouldn't they port the whole collection X360 got? Jeez...Re-releases / ports of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 seem to be coming to PC (update: now available on GOG) Rumor
So while the Bethesda hullaboo was going on someone posted in the PC gaming thread: Potterson was later verified in the thread via a mod: Potterson has IIRC had a few leaks before, and seems like they might be on a PR mailing list, so these are likely to be announced soonish. He clarified...www.resetera.com
I don't know if you realize that this is a big deal cause' it means that IF konami wants Silent Hill PC ports could be re-released again, that would mean 2, 3 and 4 available on digital storefronts AT FUCKING LAST.Re-releases / ports of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 seem to be coming to PC (update: now available on GOG) Rumor

If this is real, please don't region-locked them. I can only buy a small number of Konami games from my region.I don't know if you realize that this is a big deal cause' it means that IF konami wants Silent Hill PC ports could be re-released again, that would mean 2, 3 and 4 available on digital storefronts AT FUCKING LAST.
I wish the same sale is going on in Steam, I'd love to buy Neverwinter after that visual upgrade. There was some talk about Baldur's Gate 2 recently.
As always somebody from GOG.com is reading and there is now a D&D sale on there.
Unfortunately Planescape is missing, but NWN2, BG 1, BG2 enchanced are all only ~9€ each.

...isn’t this already on PC? Like, they’re shitty ports that’re near unplayable without mods, but it’s still on PC. Call me when MGS3 or MGS4 get ports.Re-releases / ports of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 seem to be coming to PC (update: now available on GOG) Rumor

I’d be morally conflicted about giving Konami money if that happened. Especially given the extremely likely chance that none of the ports would be widescreen and SH2’s PC port would still need to be modded like it has been for the last 20 years.I don't know if you realize that this is a big deal cause' it means that IF konami wants Silent Hill PC ports could be re-released again, that would mean 2, 3 and 4 available on digital storefronts AT FUCKING LAST.
Not really. I think Sony is preparing for a potential platform-agnostic future and having PC versions of its games is essential in such a scenario.Do you guys think Microsoft's acquisition will have any impact on Sony's plans to release old PS4 exclusives on PC ?
Metal Gear as in the MSX version?Re-releases / ports of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 seem to be coming to PC (update: now available on GOG) Rumor

Interesting, i assume they wont be win10 versions?Gamepass on Steam is definetly part of MS plans. Probably just for first-party games like EA Play
