Whoa, what is this?! Sorry if i missed this earlier in the thread!
Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart. SRB2 is an open source fangame built in a modified DOOM engine. They spun it off into it's own Kart game, because Sonic fans are crazy.

New players: there is an opengl bat file (or add -opengl to the shortcut in steam). You can do a bit more with the video options and whatnot.

edit: It looks like 1.3 is a pretty good update. It adds discord support, so you can invite or request an invite directly from discord. Add this mod (this name is too anime for me) for uncapped fps support and more it seems.

The PC version of "Halo 4" Beta public testing is expected to begin later this month.
According to Microsoft 343 Studio News: 343 Studio revealed in the community update post of the PC "Halo: Master Chief Collection" because "Halo 3: Hell Paratrooper" has now been launched on the PC platform, so "Halo 4" PC development is already on the way, and it is expected that the beta public test of the PC version of "Halo 4" will begin later this month.
Halo 3: Hell Paratrooper is a much cooler name than ODST :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

Silent Hill 2 tho...

I have hope! It has a PC version after all. And it seems Konami isn’t above haphazardly dropping a port of questionable quality on GOG. Modders have done a great job with SH2 though, so I’ll take it whichever way I can get it.

it'll most likely be 2, 3, and 4 ... for obvious reasons :p

Four close beta tests probably helps a lot. Heck during the third close beta, the PS4 version ran worse than the mobile version.

But it's not without any controversy though, "genshin impact" and "spyware" became trending on Japanese Twitter.

Or so they say but I have my doubts on some occasions.
Love the smash outrage
So your telling me that what has now become one of the most iconic video game characters and outpacing pretty much every other video game on sales (even Nintendo games) is now in a game with other iconic game characters? What herasey.

I haven't seen the video and all of that but it did sound like he was sort of forced in and not choosen by Sakurai himself.but it's still very Cool that he is in the game.

Also crazy just how far that game has some in it's 10+ years now. Unlike with other franchise that have come and gone since the 80s and 90s and stuff Minecraft is one of those that will likely never leave.

I'm not hoping much other than a straight rerelease, that means 30 fps cap for gameplay, 15 fps cap for cutscenes, direct input only with no analog support. Really weird since SH 2 and 3 pc ports are not that bad considering pc port standards at the time.

I never finish 4 partly because of the 30 fps on pc and the infuriating escort mission. Would love to be proven wrong by GOG tho.

Sorry to ask again for ideas on great/classic oldies, the cream of the crop, for a shitty laptop for my non PC gamer brother in law to sample some goodness. Not wordy games like CRPGs though. Again the specs are A4 9125 + R3 + 4GB Ram with a 1366x768 screen and Windows 10. Dxdiag reports something like 70MB VRam, I'm not sure if it allocates more on the fly as needed or if it's fixed to that pitiful amount. It's basically (old) netbook specs even though it's a full laptop.

Today I was surprised to find Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament run almost flawlessly, I had almost given up on 3D. Those games imo look better than something like Half-Life which didn't run good enough, larger maps and shinier art style. Also Duke Nukem 3D Anniversary doesn't run too well either but it's playable, borderline I'd say (maybe cos it also runs the much slower 3D renderer in the background since it lets you switch on the fly?) and it's similar for Ion Fury. Ultimate Doom ran a bit better but didn't seem like a very polished version and lacked options. Here are other games it can and can't run to give you an idea of its capabilities and also how not every 2D retro game is equally low spec even if it looks like it should be. Also KEX engine seems to be a no go sadly, as Doom 64 runs on it, I don't imagine the other fully 3D games are lighter, right?

I'd prefer stuff that will run as is straight from Steam (I'm family sharing my library and choose which to download) and not require mods and fixes and wrappers and sourceports since it's a noob's system and not my own, although I did put dgVoodoo2 on it and set it up just for Rogue Squadron 3D. Somehow it didn't work right for SWAT3 though so other games that need it may or may not work I guess. I also tried QuakeSpasm but it wasn't to my liking with how it needed command lines for basic stuff like disabling texture filtering and having no mouse menus so yeah, I don't wanna go through the hassle for more stuff if it can be avoided.

Supposed games for choice tomorrow, hopefully it's fake because that's kind of like... a fanatical bundle
Oh no🙁

Only thing I seriously want is Fae Tactics. Others can wait.

Edit: Look up on other games. Actually they don't look too bad. Just no immediate interest to get them.

Humble doing me a solid and making me pause two months in a row. Even when there are games I want, I just never play them. I really shouldn't waste my money when I can barely muster up the desire to play the games I'm actually interested in lately.

The Alan Wake DLC was the hypest thing about Control for me but now that I'm on it I just don't feel like playing anymore. Honestly not sure if it's due to me waiting too long between the main game and the DLC or the game in general just overstaying its welcome. Control itself was fantastic, so I'm definitely out of the gaming slump I was in earlier this year, but I think I'm just kind of over backlogs and feeling the need to play everything that looks interesting. Most of it ends up being kinda mediocre anyway. Better things to do with my time.

hmm, unhelpful: works for me.
V-Sync doesn't work though, so I'm constantly overshooting my refresh rate target. Locking FPS with RTSS makes the game stuttery. Nothing I can measure but something is off. Borderless windows is even worse.

Classic point-and-click adventures should run without issues I imagine. Some examples:

Must plays.

Also if you are planning to play Monkey Island 1 and 2, try going the extra mile and play the original versions.

Y[UWSL]ou can switch to original graphics in 1. [/UWSL]

For 2, I'll need to find the original files and run it through scum VM.

Pre-Renegade Command & Conquer games should work as well as StarCraft. You could try Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe (it was released as a Freeware). If Unreal Gold and UT99 work fine, then Unreal II should too. Might also want to test some racing games - there's a bunch of old NFS and Rally titles.

I was wondering why it looked strange. There was some other stuff that was also weird as well.

Are the opening parts of the game pre-rendered? Since they looked nice but just didn't looks that smooth.

I'm surprised they're dropping Fae in here so soon. That's rare. I don't get some of these other picks like The Uncertain, Goat of Duty, and Blacksmith. Weird.

I like the new graphs on Steam250.

Here you can see "Slap City":
  • it was initially a hidden gem (from the get-go), with a peak before July 2018, and then it is less and less hidden,
  • there is also this weird bump of reviews around July 2018 (maybe due to a discount or a beta), which gets the game in the top 1000.

Edit: I should have bought it back then.

Edit: A new festival on Wednesday:
