NVidia spent years profiting off the crypto tulip mania and pumped up GPU prices to insane levels. Now they act like they don't want anything to do with it. :shrugblob:
This is interesting, because it's obviously self-serving for NV to talk about this now, but they are also completely correct.
AI/ML is infinitely more useful to society than crypto, both in potential and even in already realized functionality today.

I also think some bean counters at NV will be happy that they no longer have to try to line up supply of a product that has a lead time of months at best with the fluctuations of the crypto market.

4 was the number in the initial bloomberg article at the time.
No idea if that stayed the same later.
I checked the article. The fourth one is Christy Dena, who didn't actually accuse Avellone of anything specific - just that she got drunk and didn't remember what happened (and he claims he was on different continent on the time in question, something I doubt he would claim if he could be disproven).

Does anyone get an error message when trying to add certain free to play games to their account? I've tried adding Smite, Star Trek Online and a few other free to play titles to my account multiple times over the last few months and it's been giving me an error message. I previously played a few of these games and removed them from my account when I was done.

So many people on different forums and social media platforms keep talking about what Sony/MS should acquire next and here Im just not giving a fuck about it. Why? Because what happens, happens, Im not gonna use my time with this console warrior nonsense, it is console warriorism this acquisition fighting.

Some people think even Sony wants to acquire CDPR for GOG or Epic for EGS to get a better place in the PC market not realizing both are doing badly.

Yeah that seems about right. I don't see it coming anywhere close to Resident Evil 4's numbers.
I guess if the port wasn't ready it couldn't be helped but launching it less than a week after RE4 was a seriously galaxy-brained move. Survival-horror fans will still be playing/replaying RE4. I'm sure the timing is going to affect their potential day one sales.

I mean all of this is about claims from various parties about things that might have happened a literal decade ago. Most of this, maybe even none of this, can truly be proven or disproven at this point.
That's kind of my point.

I think we should actively hope that doesn't happen.

If you think Epic is bad for doing exclusives, Sony getting a foothold in the PC ecosystem space is going to be horrible for store exclusives.

And I'm not just talking about Sony games either. Sony persistently and perpetually abuses its market dominance in console to leverage deals that are clearly distorting said market. If they bring those tactics to PC we're in for a difficult few years, especially if their store platform sucks (which it probably will).

Not when so much of it is documented online. Again, those women would not have retracted and paid if they were in the right. Trying to muddy the waters with "eh it was a long time ago, maybe it happened, maybe it didn't" does a pretty big disservice to people who get falsely smeared like this.

So the concurrent peak for RE4 wound up being a little over 168k.

Its impressive but I wonder what their next game will do. And will any RE game be able to do 200k?

I don't think an RE5 remake will do it. The game is just not as good as 2 or 4. So I think it comes in under 150k.

And I don't see a Code Veronica remake doing 200k either assuming its even made.

Revelations 3 is probably off the table too. And episodic stuff won't do big numbers regardless.

So it has to be the next RE9 that does it. Tho I don't know if another fps spooky game will do those type of numbers.

I really think an Outbreak remake could pull it off. The co-op aspect of it will do good in today's environment. I remember the game being a lot of fun with ps2 online and the performance was choppy but the game was very ambitious. This was back in the DSL days with shitty network thing attached to the PS2 as well lol. I think it was one of the first online game I played with the PS2 along with Madden 2003 or 2004 iirc. The experience was kind of ahead of its time imo. I really wouldn't mind them trying to remake it. And with good reviews + RE Engine it could push 200k.

(RE stuff)
I personally would love to see remakes of the remaining isometric RE games in this style of REmake 2 · 3 · 4. They really nailed it with the RE4 remake (Im close to the end btw and enjoyed it a LOT) and I hope they continue doing them.

The first game in particular could do really well if remade like this. But I would also love to play Code Veronica and Zero. I never played CV and couldnt get into RE1 and RE0 because isometric gameplay/fixed camera just isnt for me, like tank controls (the tank controls of RE4 2005 are the reason why I never played that game much, either).

I wonder if they will remake RE5 or RE6, maybe they will someday. I know RE6 has a bad reputation but I have not played either of them enough to pass judgment, to be honest. My appreciation for the franchise really only started with the first Revelations game (first played that in 2014), for some reason.

In regards to RE9 and Revelations 3: Im curious where they will go with the mainline series as well as the Revelations series (if they continue it; either way they would probably not do the episodic release model again). Either way, I'd welcome either and I hope they keep the quality of the series as high as it is and has been the recent years.

I am pretty excited I will be to Anime Expo for the first time this year.

On top of that I will also be going to this as well. I was thinking of doing the pre-show meet and greet thing but that would be an additional $120 to the $90 that I'm paying for the concert on top of the $100 for anime Expo itself. So if you want to meet and greet the VA from some of the SMT games you will at minimum have to pay close to $320 USD. That's very expensive. I was considering doing it but I will be going to the event with my friend and they had a limit of 1 per person. I'm looking forward to the event and I also plan to take a lot of pictures as well.

I have already been to the place where the SMT concert will be at and I got seats to be closer to the stage. I guess I was too late and I was not able to get seats in the balcony like I would have liked.

This is the location of the event. I saw Night Tempo there

I think RE9 is going to be next after that I have no idea what they will remake, could be 1, could be Code Veronica or could be 5, but none of them is going to hit the same amount of hype as 4. RE4 is Capcom's FF7
RE9 is likely next yeah unless Capcom suddenly pulls a RE3 and reveals something next year lol. Hopefully we get Code Veronica. Its a direct sequel to 2 and was supposed to be 3. Its the only classic traditional RE we don't have a remake for.

I upgraded just a few months ago to win 10, Gaben must've seen that 0.01% drop on users or whatever and thought "this is the time".

Sorry I singlehandedly killed Win 7
For reals, it's probably google's fault tho, Chrome dropping Windows 7 support and since Steam is 99% browser based...

Hmm, I'm currently on chapter 3 of Death Mark but debating on whether or not to continue

Didn't realise this isn't a strictly traditional VN and is more Danganronpa like, not a bad thing at all just a surprise.

But it's pretty slow and the story basic too so far. It's definitely got the creepy aesthetic down though.
Gameplay wise, is split between exploration (again it's slow) and puzzle like boss battles (which I don't know how you're supposed to figure out without a guide frankly to get the best endings which I believe the final chapter is locked behind getting all of those)
Yeah I dropped it:confused-face:
