Videogames like any art, are subjective, unless you dislike any of my favorite videogames in which case you're just a fucking idiot
And with that Steam Decks numbers kept rising. Also don't forget that PC parts are more expensive in Japan compared to other parts of the world.Gez that's a huge price increase. This will encourage more Japanese to play on PC
It's funny that you mention COD when the last cod has one of the worst reviews scores on steam for the series.Oh I fully believe that the masses think hogwarts or that shitty porn game is that good, that's precisely why I don't take user reviews seriously. That's the point I'm trying to make. Why would you listen to the people who would think COD is the greatest game ever every single year?
But you don't need to listen to someone that thinks COD is the best game ever, you need to listen to someone who thinks in the same way you do, this is the important part about Steam reviewsThat's the point I'm trying to make. Why would you listen to the people who would think COD is the greatest game ever every single year?
Derrick01 gonna have a meltdown next year when Rebirth launches on Steam to mixed reviews and sells nowhere near as much as some 20$ porn gameIt's funny that you mention COD when the last cod has one of the worst reviews scores on steam for the series.
I know your shtick is to be overly negative about everything but i feel like your brain broke after Rebirth underperformed despite glowing reviews.
As an Edge owner, I don't think this does much that Steam didn't already do. You can already map the back buttons using Steam Input.
I see your point, but would argue that not every person need to buy a complete new rig, and many of them definitely prefer pre-build. Like you said, some will go for the Deck. But if they already have a PC, they can just play games on it rather than paying extra money for a PS5.So it looks like a decent PC would still cost ¥30,000 more than the PS5 in Japan. So still not an ideal situation.
By the way the entry level Steam Deck OLED is just ¥5,000 more than the PS5. And the non OLED steam deck is now cheaper than the PS5 in Japan.
I like how there are some Japanese users mentioned how that doesn't include the price of M+KB or the monitor. And how there are some that mention with the PS5 that doesn't include the price of your house + a sofa. (An argument as old as time)
That summer marketing will go down as one of the worst ever.Dear God, Concord might be the biggest sales flop of all time.
Honestly I think they've given up on Japan completely with the PS5. The only way they can hope to crack that market again is with a portable.Given how weak the Yen is, they had to either make a choice to eat the cost, effectively selling the console at a loss, or increase the price to slim margin. Will be interesting to see for what price the Switch success will sell in Japan. Given the super weak Yen, I would not be surprised if it launches at higher launch price than the Switch originally did.
Things are really getting out of hand in Japan. Ironic that it would be the country that would see first the effect of "consoles are cheap" that the majority of the world as known as false since forever...So it looks like a decent PC would still cost ¥30,000 more than the PS5 in Japan. Crash Bandicoot 5 cancelled in favour of live-service games, report claims
A new report on Toys for Bob has claimed Crash Bandicoot 5 was cancelled in favour of live service games.www.eurogamer.net
That doesn't make any sense since I've felt this way about steam reviews (user stuff in general) for the longest time. The fact none of you can respond to anything without taking some jab at ff7 shows insecurity in yourselves, not me.It's funny that you mention COD when the last cod has one of the worst reviews scores on steam for the series.

I am sleepy so misread the title "Crash Bandicoot 5 cancelled in favour of live-service games, report crime"Crash Bandicoot 5 cancelled in favour of live-service games, report claims

For what it's worth, personally I wasn't taking a jab at the game itself, it was a jab at you constantly talking negatively about everything except ff7.The fact none of you can respond to anything without taking some jab at ff7 shows insecurity in yourselves, not me.
Sorry, didn't mean literally everyone lol I'm just used to this on discord too, the go to move for anyone who wants to try to get under my skin is to attack ff7. It's a predictable, cringe, whatever other word the youths use these days, tactic.I didn't take any jab at ff.
Well just speaking for this year it's been a really weak year outside of rebirth. I have not yet played everything I wanted to, I think I just have yakuza 8 left, but everything else was mediocre or worse. I'm looking at the new mana reviews and it seems to have turned out how I expected to- completely forgettable and average. So cross another one off the list. For what it's worth, personally I wasn't taking a jab at the game itself, it was a jab at you constantly talking negatively about everything except ff7.
I don't have any opinion about ff7 remake/rebirth since I haven't played them yet (I did play the original though). I'm considering waiting until the whole trilogy is out on PC.
It's not jab at FF7 but rather at your obsession as treating it as the second coming of christ or somethingThe fact none of you can respond to anything without taking some jab at ff7
I looked around the client and couldn't find a setting, but if you follow a developer you'll receive an email notification. I got one for the Epic Mickey demo earlier.Does anyone know how to turn on Steam notifications when a wishlisted game gets a demo? This was supposedly added as a feature a month or so back when Valve changed how demos work on Steam, but I haven't gotten a single such notification, even though a number of games on my wishlist have gotten demos since then.
Balatro collabs? Already better than ONL.Going live in 3 mins. Crown makeup ready?
Going by your stellar taste in videogames, I would be inclined to agree with this statement quite sincerely - so it's a shame you're being facetious!Videogames like any art, are subjective, unless you dislike any of my favorite videogames in which case you're just a fucking idiot
Isn't it a cost thing though? Disney demands insanely high amounts of money in order to use their IPs. Which is why Spiderman 2 was reported as not having even broke even (one of the reasons). I think EA also said that's why they are going to stop making Star Wars games after they lost the exclusivity to the license. That summer marketing will go down as one of the worst ever.
They spent millions on that CGI trailer full of characters stealing some thing at some place. And no one gave a shit.
Such a colossal waste of dev resources. Imagine if they made a singleplayer campaign for the game. Like it used to be in the old times when FPS games had a campaign and it was backed by a multiplayer mode. Even if they did like a short 3-4 hour campaign it would have probably given the game longer legs since it would increase the likelihood of people giving a shit about those GoTG type characters. And also justified that 40$ price tag.
I don't know why Sony approved something like this. You have a reputation and so does your first party teams. If you really gonna flush money down the toilet like this then just give that money to Disney and make an full on GotG FPS hero shooter straight from the films if that is how it needs to be. Let the developers cook for some more time and release something people would actually care about. The way this was done was just sad.
I still think the new switch will be around ¥45,000, it may even be at around ¥50,000Things are really getting out of hand in Japan. Ironic that it would be the country that would see first the effect of "consoles are cheap" that the majority of the world as known as false since forever...
But it's also everything around consoles that is stupidly expensive, games and peripherals are ridiculously overpriced, and for that one Nintendo is all too happy to participate, including the ever present subs. I know families living there that really slowed down on buying Switch games and videogames in general (the retro gaming market being pretty much wiped out now doesn't help either, it became a collector's market and gone are the days of finding good deals).
It's no wonder that mobile gaming is so big, and that the midrange sees a big PC resurgence.
I have no doubts the Switch 2 will be popular, but we all know how many people struggle, and if it costs close to 70k yens with games that sell for nearly 10k?
That will only accentuate that trend of consoles being a luxury and not made for those dirty peasants... the time of consoles sold for 99 bucks with cheap second hand games is far away.
Good seeing how badly the performance of these games tend to be on Switch. Slide shows at times. And then having to wait months for the PC release. The new Rune Factory spin-off is coming to PC:
And so is the new Atelier:
Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
Capcom Fighting Evolution
Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
Project Justice
Power Stone
Power Stone 2
Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
Not that it shows much more but still.i'm not sure how I feel about the Sky remake to be honest, so little of it was shown
Just as I was about to rant it's only on Switch. If I had a deck this will be an instant buy. Will wait fo a bit of discount.
Sky remake looks lovely, but I have already finished the original game twice. Not sure if I want to go through the same story for the third time.
I imagine that probably means any script changes will be pretty minorSky is apparently releasing worldwide in 2025
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st launches Worldwide in 2025 | RPG Site
A full remake of the original game in the Trails series is coming worldwide, next year.www.rpgsite.net
Assuming this news is true, this would be an absolute novelty for Falcom. A true day-and-date release for a "new" Trails game.
(Also wondering if PH3 has been working on the PC port already )
