Lol,, some indie games on Switch, some on PS4, some on Xbox.

While everything comes to PC.

gotta love this ... "literally everything BUT steam"

:toucan:
Game is gonna do bad on PC. 2 days before CP2077 and only on Uplay and EGS whle CB2077 is on Steam, GOG and EGS.

I planned playing the game day one on Uplay+, but if that date is right, that's not happening anymore.

I cant see why ubi hates steam so much? At one point they started to add steam achievements and such to their games so it seems all was good.
I'll buy FC6 when it is 10 bucks on the uPlay store. Which would be like in April next year? :p
You mean 3€, just like Division 2, thats the price I'm willing to go for when it comes to uplay.

First mainline Far Cry I won't be buying, after Ubisoft left Steam and 3rd party stores, their prices sky rocket here.

It truly trickled down.:shrugblob:
i stopped buying their games when they left steam ... and won't be buying any until they come back

i just can't be bothered to use their shitty store (even if they're $5 or free ... i just don't care)

they wanted to leave for YEARS ... and Tim only gave them the best possible excuse (a truckload of money)

I imagine was like when Satan tempted Jesus on the desert, but instead of Satan it was Timmy, and istead of Jesus it was Yves Guillemot, but unlike Jesus, Yves don't give 2 shits about people, so Timmy's temptention was really welcomed.

Ubi could return jlike EA, MS and Bethesda. Though their store is better than their efforts, and you deal with it even when you buy on Steam, I'm sure many of their games lose sales. It's been clear they wanted to try having their own store alone for ages, now they get Epic's money on top (and yet no real competition from egs over actual sales). You can be sure the others will try leaving Steam again, if they think they stand a chance. We'll see what the situation is like then. Maybe there's a future people don't give a fuck as all services are on par or something, it wouldn't have happened without Steam's pioneering anyway.

Give it a few years and they will likely give it away in one promotion or another. Their bland open world chore simulators are only taking valuable attention away from actual good games on Steam. The fewer on the store the better.

Ubisoft is a garbage company anyway. I didn't think I could be put off them anymore than I already was, but the recent news about senior members of staff being sexual predators (and the company turning a blind eye to it) has convinced me they are beyond contempt. Just don't buy their trash, not even for pennies.

Ubi will comeback in the same way EA did, launching everything at the same time and with Uplay+ integrated.

there will be some point when this will be a movement that will happen, might not be today nor tomorrow, but be sure it will happen.

I'm not fully behind the hatred of Ubisoft even though I complete agree regarding their failing. I just think that if, if these allegations of sexual predation are proven and systematically resolved and if their crappy design by committee ends, they can produce good games in a few years from now.

Don't know if Yves is involved in this whole situation (he probably does), because I think these moves are employed to secure his power as well as try to get away by dumping other people under the bus.

Anyway. I will still play Ubisoft games, but I will avoid getting their games at ubistore as much as possible.

Even if he isn't directly responsible, it happened under his watch.

yeah honestly I'm bummed because I was going to Ubisoft Montreuil a LOT (at the user lab) to playtest their games and I can't really bring myself to want to go ever again until there's a real deep change. And it sucks because that section of their in particular has really awesome folks

I've played it for a week straight and there's a good reason they're not showing it as of yet lol
Oh no, was really hoping this would be a good Zelda-like and I thought what little they showed last year looked great. well, fingers crossed for Gamescom or whenever they re-reveal it anyway

I seriously doubt it's TF3. TF2 development did really drop off in 2018 but I think it's much more likely most of those developers spent most of their time on Alyx. 2 of the most senior people on the TF2 "team", Dave Riller and Eric Smith, are actually veteran Half Life developers. Dave Riller has been working at Valve since the beginning and has worked on all the Half Life games. Eric Smith has been with Valve since 2000 and he's worked Half Life 2 and the Episodes before moving over to TF2. My guess is they likely spent a lot of time helping out with Alyx.
Not to say other people couldn't have worked on a Team Fortress game but I think the TF2 devs working on Alyx is much more likely.

Yea TF3 is a longshot. I personally want it to happen because it just seems like a fun thing for them to do without having to innovate too much.

And honestly even a Portal 3 is a longshot considering how Portal 2 ended. That felt like Valve was saying they are done with the series and that story.

2018 is an interesting year tho so its fun to speculate. That is the year Valve acquired Campo Santo and we know In the Valley of Gods is paused so that is not the secret project. 2018 is also the year Battle Royale really took off so maybe the secret project is them doing something in that genre.

If the project isn't cancelled by now that means its happening. They seem to cancel everything else real fast. The way they unveiled Alyx and short time to release was great tho because it means its likely they do that again. I bet we find out what the new game is before this time next year :)

How does the Watch Digs 2 giveaway work tonight? Where are you supposed to sign in?
Just log-in to the Ubisoft website and you'll be met with a 404. :shrugblob:

Usually they end up here: Ubisoft Free Events

Edit: It seems they might handle this one differently because they want to incentivize people to watch the event. Apparently you can get it through drops on Twitch as well!

Should I wake myself up at 3am to get a free copy of Watch Dogs 2... To be or not to be, that is the question.

Well "Zelda like" sort of works in a sense but really what G&M aims to be is an open world puzzle game above everything else. There is no exploration that's worth anything outside of better mounts and finding voids (equivalent of shrines in Zelda), thats it. Like imagine an open world game that doesn't have any npc to talk to in the map and you get the idea, its ONLY PUZZLES everywhere and ressources to gather to upgrade your stuff

Outside of that it borrows a lot of systems from many open world games, from Botw to god of war, to shadow of mordor to Recore to Nier Automata pretty much and is entirely narrated by Homer to his grand children (you'll learn a lot about Greece).

The one awesome thing about it is the platforming. There are some really terrific platforming dungeons that make Recore look like child's play, and if you're wondering why that game in particular, its mostly because G&M do really love to play with lasers, vicious camera angles and some other nice things I'll let people discover :p
