Ms what about release games?
At this point only seems they are acquiring studios and their IPs to avoid those games appear on other platforms instead of release games for its console.
Seems 90s windows era and episodes like media player devs xD or some other known cases.

Koei Tecmo big sale

I might spend a lot on their games :face-with-cold-sweat:
I was shocked to see they've remembered they have Atelier games other than Ryza. Not amazing discounts, but at least it looks like they put them at their historical lowest more often now instead of gradually making the discounts worse over time.
Might grab Firis and Lydie & Suelle DX from Humble, since I have an extra 15% Choice discount :thinking-face:

When it comes to Gust games on Steam, I'm only missing Fairy Tail and its season pass (non costume DLCs) for my collection, but it's still far too expensive even with the current 40% discount. :/

EDIT: Oh, I'm also missing Nelke, since I'm not very interested in it.

I'm considering getting Berserk. But damn why are the AOT games so expensive.
Both AOT games are cheaper on Humble Bundle than on Steam, especially AOT2:

Fairy Tail mentioned. I'm reading manga these days, maybe I could play that. Look at Metacritic. OR NOT.
And I will spare you a rant about the fact that there are always one or two miserable whore of an outlet to give a game 100%, whatever the game.
It's not a question of tastes, I understand a game experience is relative.

I didn't look at reviews before, but 7/10 is roughly what I expected from.
The current prices are just too high for it, but knowing KT, it'll be years until it gets better discounts...

Yeah 7/10 is not horrible in itself, but I'm personally really wary because it's an average and when critics are bad they are bad.
(edit - bah, looked again and no, it's more nuanced than I describe it)

Just saw that I somehow got the pre-order dlc for Anno 1800 on Uplay (didn't pre-order it). Three miserable constructions. Steam vs completion. Uguu.

I've been playing some Fallout 76 and it's better than I expected. The world still feels empty, but some of the quests are well designed.

I still don't get the multiplayer part tho. People are creating teams to do random world events, but I want someone to play with for the regular story missions.

Oh and the interface sucks when playing with mouse + kb. Using Z and C to switch tabs is a terrible design choice.

If you'd ask me to make a list of things I didn't want to happen, most of these possible aquisitions would be on that list.
It's almost nightmarish just thinking about Larian or Team Cherry or 11bit under the MS umbrella.

Since they added cheevos, I may buy Anno 1800 on Steam. Feels really dumb double dipping a game you never started on Uplay… but that’s the point too. I’m no steam or bust but I truly can’t be bothered to check my libraries outside of steam when I want to play a game.
A good fit for the French idiom ‘Far from the eyes, far from the heart’.
I bought Anno 1800 on Steam after already owning it on UPlay. Im in a phase of deleting games once ive moved on from them to free up storage but fancied re-playing Anno and so went to re-download it. The download speed on UPlay is painfully slow for some reason and i saw it on sale on Steam and so bought it.
Steam handles the file and downloads max rate for me.
i just cant be bothered using another launcher.

Makes sense though, Starfield will/would probably be a perfect case for frame generation so better pay for that not to happen (at launch anyway).
Given how both FSR and DLSS use very similar inputs, I'm sure there will be mods that enable DLSS3 very soon. Especially given the crazy active mod community that Betheda games always have. Just after the modders are done with the nude mods, of course.

Oh ffs

Was counting on DLSS support considering it looks like Bethesda have made some expensive decisions this time around ie. RTGI, etc.

I remember wanting t0 ask the makers of Judgment's DLSS mod to see if he can make a DLSS mod for Callisto Protocol but apparently the game doesn't show the usual fsr dll in the game's folder making a dlss mod not possible or something to that effect. I really hope that's not the case for Starfield.

But I guess with a lot of modders for bethesda games I shouldn't be worried that much.

That makes the mod (significantly) harder, not impossible.
I would still expect it to happen rapidly if Starfield actually ships without DLSS. The modding community for these Bethesda games is just too big.

I already sent PureDark (modder who made Skyrim and Fallout 4 DLSS mods and also Jedi Survivor, Elden Ring and Last of Us) vidoe with message to get ready for September XD

I like how you guys are all assuming that Starfield will be moddable in the first place :devilish:
Technically, every PC game is "moddable". But Bethesda is easily the most friendly company in terms of modding support, releasing basically the same tools they use to make the game to fans. Given how it's basically an endless cash cow that keeps generating interest in the games, I don't see them stopping. Note how both Fallout 4 and Skyrim had mods on consoles too.

I remember you posted this a while back:

but I wonder where you get that from?
A lifetime of cynicism and expecting the worst is where I get that from. I have no actual information or anything like that.

I do believe that, for example, if BGS were to decide that they don't want free mods interfering with paid creation club mods then this would be the game they can pull it off with. They've wanted to do paid mods for a long time. Creation club was built for the sole purpose of delivering paid mods. The next logical step is to make sure that it has no competition.

Honestly, I'm just doom posting. I hope it'll have the same extensive mod support they've always had.

Well yes, but if you told them they could earn $5 more if they didn't support mods then half their board of directors would be jumping at the idea.

For the love of God CDPR your game got removed from PSN and refunded to hell and back on Xbox. And yes you went from hero to zero after hyping something for years and then not delivering. You promised open world Deus Ex and we barely got GTA.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that CD Projekt made great games despite its terrible management, not because of it, so it's not surprising that the CEO thinks it's all just the medias fault or something. Zero introspection. Sounds like they the developers there worked hard to fix a lot of things with the DLC, though.

For some reason I got the strangest urge straight out of nowhere to play Persona 5 Royal.

Might have something to do with FF XVI's reception of being a character action game upfront with a smidge of rpg-lite on the side. Seems like such a wild swing in direction for the IP that my reaction was to reach out for a traditional turn-based jrpg as a sort of palette cleanser.

Hope is goes on seal this week. Noticed the all-time low on Steam has been about half off, so anything around 25-50% off would be just fine.

I understand. The way you wrote it made it seem like you know something more.

Anyway, I get the cynicism. My approach is more like:
What happens, happens - and when it (the worst case scenario) does happen, you look at it like: "can I do something about this?'" If the answer is yes, do something! If the answer is no, dont worry too much about it, and dont let fear, anger or frustration drive you.

If BGS decides to make the game non-moddable or restrict it to the Creation Club, there would be a massive backlash.
Bethesda must know this, thats why I find that scenario unlikely.
My assumption is that they will ship with the Creation Club and free/paid mods in there but will still allow to sideload mods from Nexus or whatever.
I dont think they would want to deal with the outrage if the game isnt moddable or heavily restricted.

(Side notes: That doesnt mean it couldnt happen, of course, but the chances are lower than, say, a mod-restricted release from a publisher known to already restrict mods. I know that trust in companies can backfire and previously developers/publishers with a good track record can still suddenly do wrong. Arkane had tons of trust and then shipped Redfall; CDPR bungled the Cyberpunk launch, etc. )

Well yes, but if you told them they could earn $5 more if they didn't support mods then half their board of directors would be jumping at the idea.
I do also believe that there are surely people would would jump at the chance to earn more if it meant shutting down sideloading (just look at the iOS ecosystem and how locking out sideloading made Apple obscenely rich – its not a secret that holding a monopoly on distribution of anything with high demand is gonna make money).
However, the window of opportunity for such a thing is narrow, you need to intruduce it at the right point, and thats usually when you first launch something; and Bethesda has a long string of highly moddable and heavily modded games under their belt (same argument as above, I know).

Anyway, I hope this was half-coherent and made sense :)

Hah I thought that was a "legally distinct Dysmantle" at first from the font/thumbnail/emojis in the description, it's nice it turned out to be the real thing.

Dysmantle overstayed itself with me, by the time I finished the main quest I was tired of it. The combat was a severe weak spot for me the whole time - if I could have disabled enemies after the end to just explore more I might have actually done that.

All that said, I'm interested to see what their next iteration does
