As of Monday this week, an early version of Steam for Chrome OS has been made available to developers. Google and Valve have been collaborating on this project, which will ship to end users sometime in the future. Because Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system, it can leverage much of the work that Valve has recently done for Steam Deck to allow games to run well even when they don't have a native Linux build. Google engineers have worked to greatly expand the capability of Chrome OS to make this possible.
Access is currently limited to those who are running their Chromebooks in developer mode. If you have a Chromebook that meets the system requirements (Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 11th Gen Core i5 or i7 processors, and at least 8GB of RAM), then you can try running your game through Steam on a Chromebook today to see a preview of what users will see on current or future Chrome OS hardware.
We're very excited that Steam and Steam games will soon be available to many more users who use Chromebooks daily. Note that there is no current need for you to test your Steam games on Chrome OS - it's up to Google and Valve to make sure compatibility for Chrome OS is as robust as possible. But if you do try your game and want to report any concerns, have particular workflows you’d like supported, or are otherwise interested in working with us, please reach out to borealis-game-dev@google.com or reach out though your usual Steamworks channels to reach Valve.
Batshit crazy and nonsensical? It's the me of video games?!PossiblyPudding alert
LUNACID was very good until it wasn't at all. Take the following with my subjectivity in mind.
This very much feels like an unfinished game, which it is and doesn't try to hide. By unfinished I mean you can tell the base is there but there will be a ton of tweaking before it turns into what it wants to be. Like my best example is how difficult it is to know in combat if you are in a safe spot or in harm's way. Adversaries lack some tells, some animations, the ingredients necessary to turn combat from 'I guess it's there' to 'Those are some good fights'.
Some zones are far too empty or simply repetitive with not much in them. Plot is very Bloodborne, batshit crazy and nonsensical. Some zone lore is on point (meet the monks, read on what happened and be creeped).
There is a very real potential, but between the obviously immature elements and the fact that the game is EA, I would say that the only point of buying it now is for the discount.
Early Access game is not finished and needs a ton of tweaks, shocking, I know.
you're baaaaaaaaack!!!Batshit crazy and nonsensical? It's the me of video games?!
Thanks! Have been waiting for the release
it's out now!
Or perhaps I was here the whole time! Always watching.. waiting, ever vigilant. And soon, soon I will strike!you're baaaaaaaaack!!!

I have it if you still need itIt's a long shot, but before I pre-order the game from Humble, I was wondering: does anyone have, by any chance, a Steam coupon for Weird West (which were given to beta testers)?
thanks
This here is indie video gamesThis 2D side-scrolling action game just launched on early access, and it looks quite stylish.
It's probably worth keeping an eye on this one:
No since apparently all reports pointed to terrible performance, so I'm trying to see how it works with steamos3 for now(Did you end up putting Windows on it also?)
Game's Fate Grand Order and yes that's Raita's artwork, he's the artist for multiple servants in FGOIs that Raita's artwork I see? Also wut gaem
If you can't see difference in CP2077 than there is no hope for youI finally got a new PC (5900x, 3070ti, 32gb 3200 ram) and set it up this week. I haven't done nearly enough testing on it as I want to due to other games taking priority atm, but I did get to test the opening of cyberpunk and a couple of hours of guardians of the galaxy. This is my first time being able to use RTX/DLSS. I should start by saying I'm a little disappointed with DLSS so far. Sure the fps gains are great but for a couple of years now I've heard about how it's black magic and often can look better than native res, but in both of these games I saw significant ghosting even on Quality mode. I had to download the most current version of DLSS and swap the files out which helped quite a bit but there's still some ghosting left behind, definitely not "better than native res".
As for ray tracing I haven't tested enough to say much. My performance in cyberpunk with this machine was like 50fps in towns and 70 in the desert, so it's not where I want it to be which is at least a stable 60 so I chose to put that off until I can secure a 4080. In gotg I honestly can't tell the difference with rtx on or off so far. It seems to be a very minor implementation of it.
Is this the joysticks? Because it's a prevalent issue in all current gen controllers.Uh, that’s it, I’m fed up with my series x controller regularly being possessed and playing by itself in games. Wasn’t it you Joe Spangle who had the same issue ? I think you told me it involved bluetooth going crazy ? How did you fix if ?
For reference I’m not even using BT for this thing, wired only.
The "better than native" and "black magic" hype comes from games where the native image has issues, usually because of bad taa, where dlss can fix those issues and make the trade-off in image quality overall worth it (while providing more fps on top). I've regularly found myself being annoyed at dlss, switching it off and then quickly going back because the native image didn't look as good as i imagined at all.I finally got a new PC (5900x, 3070ti, 32gb 3200 ram) and set it up this week. I really wish DLAA was getting as much attention as DLSS, it offers the temporal stability of DLSS at native resolution. Also, ghosting is just one of many aspects of image quality, and different people prioritize those very differently.
I consider DLSS Quality to be "better than native" in quite a few games, primarily due to its amazing temporal stability. So many modern games suffer from flicker or noise these days if you don't supersample them, so DLSS frequently being able to provide a more stable image while subsampling is easily its most impressive part for me.
Was it FF12?Uh, that’s it, I’m fed up with my series x controller regularly being possessed and playing by itself in games.
This would make sense, but it's square enix, so it's just as likely they will shadowdrop on steam on march 30th with no promotion whatsoeverto the first one, likely won't until KH event in early April
... at full priceThis would make sense, but it's square enix, so it's just as likely they will shadowdrop on steam on march 30th with no promotion whatsoever
Maybe increased to account for inflation... at full price
... or that, yes (they will most likely fuck the regional pricing up even more, though, that much is pretty much guaranteed)Maybe increased to account for inflation
While this is the end of March there is:-It's that moment of the month again, I need:
-Highlighted April releases (so far I only have Lego SW, Chrono Cross)
-Thread titles!
GO! GO! GO!
Well, since G-Darius HD launches on the last day of March, and by now I'm worse than a broken needle about it, since I'm extremely anxious for its release (I'm like a kid ), allow me to suggest a crappy title, that is a reference to the promotional materials for the game at the time of its launch (since the game is supposed to be a prequel to the original Darius):It's that moment of the month again, I need:

Again, end of March but there are all the D&D re-releases.
I'm impressed how much people have been able to finish it. I've been playing since launch, am nearly up to 100hrs playtime and am yet to reach any ending. Even the achievement percentages for bosses deep into the game are higher than I'd expectI finished all 3 endings in ER + all cheevo booses, still have some places to explore, but still
Amazing game.
No, plain old ghost input. You play the game and suddenly the character moves and act by itself. It happened in a couple games already like Core Keeper and No Man’s Sky. The only surefire solution is to unplug the controller and plug it again. Is this the joysticks? Because it's a prevalent issue in all current gen controllers.
Anything that has a good HDR implementation is going to blow you away. What are some good games for playing on an OLED? I was thinking of replaying GotG?
This also confirms a PC version of Skate 4.Sources have said that the game is well into its QA phase, which is news that can now be revealed via Origin’s API. Under the name “Project Dingo” the title has now started active internal playtesting via Origin, as can be seen below.
Nice, got something to try when I am done with Witcher 3 Hopefully soon.I don't really delve a lot in "tweaking" games, re-shades, and stuff like that, since I frequently lack much free time (and patience ), so I just install my games, setup my resolution/controls, and I'm good to go, as quickly and painless as possible.
That's why Steam's functionalities offer a lot of convenience for someone like me.
But, as you may know I enjoy shmups, pinball games, and other classic arcade genres, and in most places I usually check I came across something that may be of interest to fellow forum members, who enjoy playing arcade games (both old and new).
There's a ReShade's shader, mainly directed at arcade games (shmups, pinball games, and more), that allows for some cool functionalities, including a nice looking CRT filter, easy TATE mode, easy addition of backgrounds and wallpapers, and plenty more. They even have easy native support for a good number of Steam games, with more being constantly added.
It's called "ArcCabView".
